The German Camp Lüneburger Heide is perfect for all those who are looking for adventures in the fresh air and want to learn German or deepen their language skills in a playful way! In addition to interesting language lessons in camp style, we also focus on discovering new cultures with children and young people from all over the world. Our students have at least 12 lessons per week in small groups. German language skills can also be applied and improved outside of the language lessons, because our team members look after all participants bilingually (in German & English). At the same time we offer a varied program: whether creative or adventure projects or sports activities - there is something for everyone.
Our North German language camp is also the Camp Adventure Academy and is located almost in the middle between Bremen, Hamburg and Hanover in the beautiful Lüneburger Heide. Within walking distance to an old traditional North German village with farms and half-timbered houses we have space on more than 150,000 m². The camp site is divided into the active worlds Survival, Creative, Beach & Water. Each area offers space for countless exciting activities. Whether kayaking, jumping on the water trampoline, playing in the "ZORB" ball, building bridges and rafts, survival training with shelter building and fire making; or climbing in the high ropes course; with us the adventurous and creative get their money's worth.
During the booking process you can choose between accommodation in tents or huts. Our seniors sleep in their own tent village separated from the juniors, so both age groups have their own tent village.
From the two tent worlds and the cabins it is not far to the washhrooms. The sanitary facilities are of course separated for boys and girls. The caretakers, our "teamers", sleep right next door and are there for questions, wishes or problems immediately and around the clock - 24 hours a day!
Adventure Lodges – just like in Canada
Our cabins are equipped with two rooms and four to eight beds - girls and boys sleep separate in the multi-bed rooms as well. The rooms are furnished with shelves and seating. The overnight stay in the cottage is charged extra with 95 € per week.
Tent Village – for the very special adventure feeling
Our tent village has a total of 20 tents with six to seven sleeping spots. Equipped with wooden floor and gallery they invite you to stay overnight. Here our participants can make themselves wonderfully comfortable with sleeping bag and sleeping mat.
The camp offers three meals a day - also vegetarian, gluten-free, lactose-free and pork-free options. Our menus are freshly prepared every day. Breakfast includes fresh rolls, cold cuts and a wide selection of fruits and cereals. Juices, cocoa and tea are available for drinking. At noon and in the evening our kitchen team cooks a delicious warm meal. In addition there is always a large salad buffet and changing desserts. Between meals you can fill up your drinking bottles at any time at our water machines and for the small hunger in between there's always fresh fruit.
Our German language courses are taught exclusively by native German speakers - in internationally mixed classes with a maximum of 12 students. With the help of a placement test, our experienced teachers ensure that all students are placed in a course that corresponds to their current German language skills. The courses consist of 12 holiday-friendly 45-minute lessons per week, which are not a continuation of normal school lessons. They are designed in a way that all participants have a lot of fun and progress linguistically.
The camp Lüneburger Heide is the ideal place to be introduced to the German language in a playful way, as many German campers also spend their holidays here! We offer courses at different levels. Both beginners and advanced students will find a suitable group here. At the time of booking you can choose the language course (surcharge 125 €).
The beginner's course is suitable for those who have had very little or no tuition. The main purpose of this course is to get a feeling for the language and to learn and speak first sentences. The Classic courses for advanced learners focus on conversation. Interactive teaching units ensure that vocabulary is expanded and grammar consolidated. Students can then test their newly acquired vocabulary directly during their leisure activities with the numerous German children and teenagers.
In addition to the language classes, our participants are spoilt for choice: Our team members offer a variety of projects every day, out of which every one can choose their own favourite to do. This means that everyone can tailor their leisure activities in the camp to their own wishes and ideas. Examples of such projects come from these areas:
Active World The Active World offers lots of experiences for all sports enthusiasts and movement lovers. Here you can really go wild or try group sports. Of course there is also time to go swimming in the lake of the camp. Those who like to be active on playgrounds will also find a climbing pyramid or a zip line.
Creative World Whether raft building or looking for materials in the forest to build huts and shelters - in the creative world there are no limits to your own ideas! The numerous possibilities also include craft projects, creating your own bracelets, drawing or finger paints. Handmade creations will remind you of the summer in camp for a long time to come.
Adventure World Archery or high ropes course will awaken adventurers! In our survival projects we will teach you many interesting skills to survive in nature with few aids - from filtering water to making fire. Our BMX bikes are perfect for the dirt bike track. We also offer great canoeing and kayaking courses on our own lake.
In addition to the classic language lessons and the projects, there will be other activities that we will experience together with all campers. The group games are especially fun and make you wish they'd never end. We have the entire camp site at our disposal for this purpose. The football field also offers plenty of space for fun and action. In the evening we like to sit around the campfire and play guitar or eat marshmallows. This is when you won't even notice the difference between speaking in German or English anymore!
As a special highlight, there is a joint excursion for campers who stay for two weeks with us. The excursion goes either to the Serengeti Park (Juniors) or Heide Park (Seniors) or to the adventure pool "Verwell".
Juniors
In the Serengeti-Park Hodenhagen lions, monkeys but also rare animal species can be admired all day long in outdoor enclosures. The park also offers great merry-go-rounds, shows or a jeep safari. With the black and white striped Zebra double-decker bus we will explore unknown animal worlds.
Seniors
Our excursion to Heide Park in Soltau will be an exciting adventure for all our senior campers. Dive coasters, bobsleigh tracks, mountain rafting or hanging looping tracks - our senior get the chance to try everything they want for an entire day. The park also offers great shows and other interesting activities. Our adventurers experience unforgettable moments here that will be remembered for a long time to come.
Juniors & Seniors
The excursion to the adventure pool "Verwell" in Verden with a visit to the city is in no way inferior to this. A large leisure pool with a giant slide, an indoor adventure pool with a current channel and many other attractions is guaranteed to keep you busy!
There is also an exclusive excursion for all participants who have booked one of our two-week camps - the Adventure Hike with a weekend overnight stay in the great outdoors! As an alternative we offer a weekend city excursion to Hamburg, which is extra charged with 65 € and has to be booked in advance.

Morning Sports/Polarbear Action: This is voluntary for Juniors and Seniors! From chasing frogs to jogging, yoga or fitness every morning we will have different programs for our early birds to choose from.
Frühstück: Our breakfast always includes fresh bread and buns as well as various cold meats, cheeses and spreads (jam, honey, chocolaty spreads etc.). There will also be a rich selection of cereals and fruits. Of course drinks are included.
Clean Up:Now we will take some time to keep our camp tidy and clean. Whether communal service (doing dishes, cleaning the kitchen) or tidying up your own tent, we will ensure our camp is comfortable for everyone
Creative, Sport & Adventure Program: Each day, our Teamers offer a wide variety of projects where every camper can choose their favorite. More information can be found under "Activities".
Lunch: Lunch is composed of a warm meal and a salad bar. Plenty of water is always served with meals and you will dine together with your Teamer (we always provide vegetarian and pork-free menu options).
Siesta: Chill out on your own, in the community room or on the comfortable wooden benches outside. For sure you can take a little nap, read a book, write a letter or chat with others. Your Teamer will offer you little things to do, but you can also just hang around with the other campers. This way, you will get some time to relax and recharge your “batteries” for the rest of the day.
Freesports: Do you want to chill out while drawing and writing a letter or play more active sports? You will have the chance to choose from various options.
Dinner: We are self-catering and our masterchef prepares delicious food with the cooking courses (we always provide vegetarian and pork-free menu options).
Evening program: The evening program is variable and depends on weather and the fitness of the group. Camp games with all kids, or our famous ‘Special Nights’- anything is possible. These activities will always take place with all kids together – also the two-week participants – so we try to ensure a varied program.
Bed time: We really want all our kids to get enough rest and sleep. Therefore our Teamers will bring them to bed with our very special Camp Adventure routine. The kids will get the chance to reflect on the day and then slowly doze off while listening to music or a bed time story.
Below we have listed all important details about our language camp in Walsrode in order to make your travel planning as easy as possible.
You are welcome to drop your children directly at camp and to pick them up at the end of their stay. Dircetions to camp will be sent out as part of our travel documents approximately 2 weeks prior to arrival at camp. Our times for check in / pick up are between 4 pm and 6 pm on arrival day and between 10 am and noon on departure day.
You can choose between our group transfer (75 € one way) and an individual transfer (350 € one way)
Group Transfer: This is a collective transfer for all students who arrive and depart in a pre-defined time frame.
Our team will be at the airport from 10 am to 3 pm to pick up all students who arrive that day before we head off to camp. For parents who accompany their children to Hamburg Airport we will set up a central meeting point at the McDonald's restaurant. Once all campers have arrived (no later than 4 pm) our staff will take them to camp. Depending on the number of students we either use private hired coaches or trains. Please note that due to given time frame there will be waiting times at the airport for those children who arrive early but our staff will look after them at all times.
Flights arriving after 3 pm can not be taken into account for the group transfer. Those students have to book an individual transfer
For early flights arriving before 10 am we charge an additional fee of 50 € as we have to send a member of staff to the airport early specifically for your child. Please note that this is not a private transfer. The fee only covers the costs for the additional member of staff. Your child will still have to wait for the group transfer leaving the airport around 4 pm. This also applies to students departing after 6 pm
Our staff will meet all students right after customs. They can be recognized easily as they all wear branded T-Shirts and hold up big Camp Adventure signs. To pick up your children we will need all flight details before arrival. That's why it's important that you fill in the transfer questionnaire that will be sent to you approximately 6 weeks prior to arrival. On the departure day we will take all children back to the airport, look after check in and accompany them to the security checkpoint
