In addition to excellent language courses, our camp also offers exciting leisure activities and excursions to many cities worth visiting. The boarding school is located right by the sea and has its own access to the beach, which is undoubtedly another highlight of our beautiful camp in the north of England! Rossall School is located on the edge of the small coastal town of Fleetwood, about an hour's drive north of Manchester. On a clear day, you can even see the mountains of the Lake District beyond Morecambe Bay. The campus extends over 166 hectares and is equipped with first-class sports facilities and modern classrooms. The heart of the boarding school is the historic Dining Hall, where we eat our meals together.

We are accommodated in the "Anchor House", one of a total of 10 boarding houses, in spacious two- to four-bed rooms. There are also cozy common rooms, a kitchenette and a library with computers and Internet access.

At the camp, participants are served three meals a day, including vegetarian, gluten-free, lactose-free and pork-free options. For breakfast, a traditional English breakfast with fried eggs, baked beans, hash browns, tomatoes, mushrooms and sausages is available. For those who like it a little lighter in the morning, we recommend our delicious homemade porridge. We also offer toast, sweet spreads and a wide selection of yoghurt, fruit and muesli. Juices, cocoa and tea are available as drinks. At lunchtime and in the evening, we serve a full hot meal from the English kitchen as well as a rich salad buffet and a variety of desserts. Between meals, participants can fill up their own water bottles at the water dispensers, and we also offer fresh fruit to satisfy small appetites in between meals.

Our wide-ranging sports and leisure programme offers the ideal balance to language lessons. With a variety of sports, outdoor activities and creative work, there is plenty of fun and variety in the afternoons and evenings.

Leisure activities
Rossall School offers sports enthusiasts a wide range of activities. Large floodlit sports fields, tennis and squash courts, a sports hall, a heated 25-metre swimming pool and a climbing wall offer ideal opportunities for sporting activities after lessons. Creative minds can look forward to arts & crafts, dancing and theatre, while outdoor activities such as survival skills and team building are also on the programme. On sunny days, we are drawn to the school's own beach, where we can swim, relax in the sun, play beach volleyball or take part in a lively sandcastle competition - pure holiday spirit! We spend the evenings with relaxed group activities such as campfires, BBQs, discos or talent shows.

We would like to introduce the children and young people who spend their holidays with us in England to the culture and way of life of the country. Once a week is excursion day! Together we explore the medieval city of York or the historic harbour city and metropolis of Liverpool. We always make sure to offer a balanced mix of sightseeing, shopping and the best attractions at our excursion destinations.

We also organise smaller excursions in the surrounding area. The popular seaside resort of Blackpool attracts visitors with its famous Pleasure Beach, three piers and the Blackpool Tower, a 158 metre high replica of the Eiffel Tower. We also visit the seaside town of Fleetwood, where the world-famous Fisherman's Friends were invented in the mid-19th century and are still made today.

Language courses

Our language courses are taught exclusively by native speakers. The courses are internationally mixed and comprise a maximum of 12 students. A placement test is carried out at the beginning, which allocates participants according to their current English language level. The courses consist of 20 lessons of 45 minutes each per week. They are specially designed for the holiday periods and are not traditional school lessons. In this way, we enable participants to make linguistic progress in an entertaining way. With two course options, you can choose the intensity of your English learning.

English Classic
In our Classic courses, language skills are improved in a fun and practical way. We use interesting and age-appropriate topics and methods that are especially suitable for the holiday season. We emphasise the importance of internalising vocabulary through daily use outside the classroom. In this way, we want to prevent dull memorisation. Our dedicated English-speaking teamers are in constant contact to ensure correct pronunciation and to inspire young people to speak English. They are experts in ensuring that the youngsters return to school after the holidays feeling empowered and motivated.

English TOEFL®
In addition to the English Classic course, we also offer the two-week TOEFL® course. The Test of English as a Foreign Language is the most widely accepted language test for school and academic English worldwide. If the course is successfully completed and the exam is passed, participants receive a certificate documenting their language skills in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. The TOEFL course comprises an additional 10 lessons in preparation for the exam on top of the regular 40 English lessons. The focus of the course is on grammar, text processing and listening comprehension. We prepare participants for the TOEFL® exam in a relaxed manner with a test run.
