Data Protection Policy

Data Protection Policy

Protecting your privacy and personal data is very important to us. We therefore strictly adhere to the regulations stipulated by the General Data Protection Regulation and the German Telecommunications Act (DSGVO, TKG 2004). We explain below the way in which data is collected and handled by Camp Adventure.

1. Responsible party

As the responsible party, Camp Adventure e.K. is accountable for the processing of all personal data collected via our website. Our details can be found in the imprint.

2. Type, scope and purpose of the collection and use of personal data

Every time you access our website or a data file stored there, the following data is recorded and stored exclusively for internal system-related and statistical purposes: name of the file accessed, date and time of access, amount of data transferred, notification of successful access, web browser and requesting domain. The IP address of the requesting computer is also recorded. Further personal data is only recorded if you provide us with this information voluntarily, as part of an enquiry or registration, for example.

Data collected as part of a booking is used insofar as it is necessary for the execution of the service, as well as for internal commercial purposes, such as Camp Adventure’s own statistics. We use Book a Camp, a German booking platform, to save and process bookings. Data transfer to German data centers is encrypted and not sold to third parties. To find out more about how your data is processed, please see the Book a Camp privacy policy (only available in German): https://bookacamp.de/de/privacy. Stored personal data is also used to maintain customer relationships, to facilitate customer service (e.g. information about travel booked), for promotional and marketing activities (e.g. catalogues or other postal advertising) and for the execution of orders.

3. Transfer to third parties

We only relay personal data to third parties when necessary for the execution of Camp Adventure contractual services, for billing purposes, statutory requirements or when you have given your consent. Such third parties include contract partners, such as airlines, teamers, bus companies etc. as part of the booking process and service execution. Your details will not be shared with third parties for promotional purposes.

You have the right to revoke your consent at any time for the future. Your personal data will be deleted if you revoke your consent to the storage of your data, if it is no longer required to fulfill the purposes for which it was originally collected or if the storage of data is no longer in compliance with legal requirements. Deletion requests do not apply to data used for billing and accounting purposes.

At the request of the appropriate authorities we may, in individual cases, forward inventory data insofar as this is required for criminal prosecution purposes, to preserve public order and safety, to allow constitution protection agencies and military counter-intelligence service to perform legal tasks or to enforce intellectual property rights.

4. Data security

Camp Adventure uses SSL security software to transfer data, in order to keep your data as secure as possible. This software encrypts data transmissions, ensuring that personal data remains private.

5. Use of cookies

Our website uses cookies. Cookies are short text files that are saved locally in the cache of the visitor’s internet browser and allow the visitor’s computer to be recognized again in the case of another visit. This information can be used for different purposes, such as advertising personalization or user experience improvement. You can stop the use of cookies by changing the settings in your internet browser (e.g. Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Opera or Safari).

6. Google Analytics

The Camp Adventure website uses the Google Analytics analysis service, operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA.

The analysis tool uses cookies. Cookies are short text files that are saved locally in the cache of the visitor’s internet browser and allow the visitor’s website use to be analyzed. Information saved in the form of cookies is transmitted to a Google server in the USA and saved there.

By activating IP anonymization, Google abbreviates the visitor’s IP address within member states of the European Union or in contracting states of the European Economic Area. In exceptional cases only will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA before being abbreviated. As per our contract with Google, this information is used by Google on behalf of Camp Adventure to evaluate visitors’ website use, compile reports on website activity and provide further services relating to website and internet use.

Google may pass this data onto third parties, if these are engaged by Google to process the data, or if Google is legally obliged to do so. To find out more about how Google Analytics uses personal data, please see the Google Privacy Policy (https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy or https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl).

The IP address transmitted as part of the Google Analytics service will not be associated with any other data held by Google. You can stop the use of cookies by adjusting the settings in your internet browser (e.g. Safari, Internet Explorer, Opera, Firefox etc.). You can stop Google Analytics from collecting your data by downloading and installing the following browser plug-in: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl

7. Google +1

Our website uses the “+1” button provided by the social network Google Plus, which is operated by Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. This button can be identified by the “+1” icon. If you open a page of our website that contains the “+1” button, your internet browser establishes a direct connection to Google servers. The content of the plug-ins will be relayed to your internet browser directly by Google and will thus be integrated into the website. Camp Adventure does not have any influence over the data collected by Facebook via these plug-ins.

The integration of the plug-in means that Facebook is informed when you open the given page of our website. If you are logged into your Google account, Google can associate this visit with your account. Similarly, if you use the “+1” button, Google will also be informed accordingly and save this information. To find out more about how Google collects and processes data, or how you can protect your personal details, please see the Google privacy policy.

If you do not want Google to receive data about you via our website, you will need to log out of your Google account before visiting the site.

8. Facebook

Our website uses the “Like” button from the social network www.facebook.com, operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA. Facebook’s “Like” button can be recognized from the Facebook “f” logo. If you open a page of our website that contains the “Like” button, your internet browser establishes a direct connection to Facebook servers. The content of the plug-ins will be relayed to your internet browser directly by Facebook and will thus be integrated into the website. Camp Adventure does not have any influence over the data collected by Facebook via these plug-ins.

The integration of the plug-in means that Facebook is informed when you open the given page of Camp Adventure’s website. If you are logged into your Facebook account, Facebook can associate this visit with your account. Similarly, if you use the plug-in (e.g. to like or comment), Facebook will also be informed accordingly and save this information. To find out more about how Facebook collects and processes data, or how you can protect your personal details, please see the Facebook Privacy Policy.

9. Links to other websites

Our website may contain links to external websites. Please note that our privacy policy does not extend to cover these internet sites. Compliance with data protection regulations remains the responsibility of the website operator. We can therefore not be held responsible for the accuracy, timeliness or completeness of the information on other websites.

10. Newsletter

You can subscribe to our newsletter via our website. To this end, we require your email address and your consent to receive our newsletter. We use a double opt-in process. After providing us with your email address on our website, you will receive a confirmation email containing a link, with which you can confirm your sign-up. If you no longer wish to receive our newsletter, you can opt-out of the newsletter whenever you wish. You can do so by either following the unsubscribe link found in every newsletter, or by writing to us at our postal or e-mail address.
